In Summer 2025, a once-empty riverside carpark on the Clyde will transform into one of the most exciting destinations for food, culture, and community in the city. Welcome to Clydeside Containers – Glasgow’s newest container-based food village, where street food meets sustainability, style, and serious flavour.

From Carpark to Street Food Hub

What is currently a stretch of leveled ground by the River Clyde will soon become a buzzing food and cultural hub, built entirely from repurposed shipping containers. These upcycled structures will be reimagined into kitchens, bars, rooftop seating areas, and a performance stage, designed to support Glasgow’s thriving independent food scene and create an unforgettable riverside dining experience.

A Sustainable Vision

Sustainability will be baked into every layer of the project. By using shipping containers as the base infrastructure, Clydeside Containers will reduce construction waste and environmental impact. The venue will also feature energy-efficient design elements and a long-term vision to champion responsible food practices.

What to Expect at Clydeside Containers

Once open, the Clydeside food market will host a curated lineup of some of Glasgow’s most exciting independent food vendors, each operating out of their own bespoke container kitchen. Confirmed vendors will include:

  • Pizza Cult – Serving fire-fuelled Neapolitan pizza with bold toppings and blistered crusts.
  • Sub 126 – Stacked NYC-inspired subs made with fresh bread and house-made sauces.
  • Greek Street Yeeros – Authentic Athens-style gyros wrapped in fluffy pita.
  • The Crumbleologist – Scotland’s first crumble bar, offering wild dessert flavours and hot custard.
  • Cafe XO – Elevated casual food led by a Michelin-trained chef.

Glasgow Food Events and More

In addition to incredible street food, the venue will become a platform for Glasgow food events, pop-ups, live music, and community programming. The aim is to create a space that brings people together, day or night, for great food and good vibes.

Glasgow’s Coolest New Venue

Clydeside Containers will offer more than just dining. With its open-air layout, river views, and a mezzanine rooftop overlooking the Clyde, it promises to become a go-to spot for locals and tourists alike. Whether you’re popping down for a quick lunch, drinks with friends, or a live DJ set, this riverside dining experience will be unlike anything else in the city.
