Clydeside Containers is Glasgow’s bold new food and drink destination on the banks of the River Clyde. Housed in repurposed shipping containers, this vibrant venue offers street food, cocktails, community events, and entertainment – all with stunning riverside views.

As we prepare to launch, we’re seeking a passionate Breakfast Chef Supervisor and two skilled Breakfast Chefs to deliver our weekday breakfast offering – serving up hot rolls, full breakfasts, and fast, fresh starts to the day for commuters, riverside runners, and morning adventurers.

Breakfast Chef Roles at Clydeside Containers

Location: Clydeside Containers, Broomielaw, Glasgow
Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 10:30am (service 7am – 10am)
Contract Type: Part-Time, Permanent
Start Date: Mid–Late July 2025


1. Breakfast Chef Supervisor

Hours: 20 hours per week
Pay: Starting from £13.50ph
Reports to: Site Operations Manager

Role Overview:

The Breakfast Chef Supervisor will oversee our weekday breakfast service and lead a small kitchen team. This role involves hands-on cooking, stock and ordering control, and responsibility for rota and daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the breakfast kitchen during service (Mon–Fri, 7am–10am)

  • Cook and serve hot rolls, full breakfasts, and other menu items to a high standard

  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food hygiene standards

  • Manage ordering of stock, liaising with suppliers to ensure availability

  • Monitor wastage and ensure efficient use of produce

  • Plan and manage staff rotas for the breakfast team

  • Train and supervise breakfast chefs and kitchen assistants

  • Contribute ideas for seasonal or promotional breakfast offers

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in a chef role (supervisory level preferred)

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills

  • Ability to lead a small team in a fast-paced environment

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (Level 3 desirable)

  • Confident working independently in early morning settings

  • Positive, can-do attitude with a passion for breakfast culture


2. Breakfast Chef (x2)

Hours: 15–20 hours per week
Pay: Starting from £12.50ph
Reports to: Breakfast Chef Supervisor

Role Overview:

As a Breakfast Chef, you’ll be the engine room of our morning service – preparing and cooking hearty breakfast items and working closely with the Supervisor to deliver fast, consistent, high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food to order during service hours

  • Assist with morning setup and clean down of the kitchen

  • Ensure hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards are upheld

  • Work efficiently to serve customers quickly and accurately

  • Support restocking and prep for the next service

  • Provide excellent customer interaction where appropriate

Person Specification:

  • Experience in a kitchen or fast-paced food environment

  • Enthusiastic about breakfast food and early starts

  • Basic food hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Punctual, reliable, and team-focused

  • Calm under pressure and able to multitask
